Becoming an instructor at the Glass Craft and Bead Expo offers the chance to share your artistic knowledge, earn income, and connect with both students and industry professionals. It's a valuable networking opportunity with artists from around the world and supports GCBE’s mission to promote art, especially glass art, to new generations.
You can submit your class proposals through our website here : glasscraftexpoteachers.com. After creating an account, you can submit a class proposal by following the steps in the submittal link. You will be able to enter your class information such as title, description, materials needed, and more. Once you submit your class proposal, our team will review your proposal and reach out to let you know if you have been accepted or denied for teaching at the 2026 show!
All submissions are due by August 14th, 2025. We need the Class Description, Class requirements, Class photo and Instructor Bio.
Class descriptions should be specific as to what the students should expect to learn in the class. Be specific about what techniques will be lectured, demonstrated only, and hands on - plus what finished projects will be completed. Descriptions will have a 3500-character maximum and allow for multiple photo uploads. The information you enter for your class proposal, if accepted, will be displayed exactly as written on our website. Veering from the class description when teaching is not allowed. Please make sure your description covers what you’ll be teaching onsite, any additional information is okay, but you must cover completely what you proposed.
Congratulations! We are excited to have you teach with us for the 2026 show! Our team will be reaching out to you with the next steps such as confirming financial details/ going into contract as well as answering any questions you may have about teaching with us and more!
There are a few different reasons why you’re class proposals would be denied and we can help give you more insight by contacting us directly at support@glasscraftexpo.com. We do not want you to be discouraged to not submit in the future, we can deny classes by what may not fit for this specific year but could for the following!
Instructor pay is per student and based on many factors including length of class, skills being taught, and if the class is lecture or hands on, to name a few. Checks will be issued within 2 weeks after the show, contingent on you signing your W-9.
Do not look at this fee to make a profit. This is a fee you can charge to cover your costs for materials and shipping. DO NOT CHARGE for any materials that have been donated to your class by our wonderful suppliers and exhibitors. Students are very sensitive to this, and evaluate the value received for the money they are required to pay. These fees will be paid directly to the instructor by the student in class.
This is a list of the tools, supplies and safety equipment needed for each class, please be specific. If tools will be available for student use in class, please note.
Please submit high quality photos, as they will be published in print, on our website and social media. The better the photo the better the marketing will be for your classes. Many students will be attracted to purchasing your classes, based on the photos that are provided. In the past we have noticed that unattractive photos have caused low student interest. Please make sure that the photos you upload are a true representation of what the class is and if they are making the projects, to make sure you have a photo that reflects what they will be making. All other photos uploaded will also be displayed online for the class, once they click for more information.
Please list the class as Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. We would like to improve the use of skill levels in the class description; this is an area where many students have been disappointed that their expectations for the class were not met. Only in special cases will we not list a skill level, please discuss with management in advance. Also, it is very important to list if any knowledge or experience is required.
Full day classes are expected to be 7-8 hours long, with an approximate 30 minute to a 1-hour lunch break. Half day or evening classes are 3-4 hours long. Classes on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday can start at 8am, Friday classes can start at 9am. Evening classes will be encouraged for Wednesday - Saturday except flame working. There will be no kiln classes on Sunday.
CLASSES ARE NOT TO END EARLY - Students expect to be taught for the full length of the class time published. Please have additional information prepared to discuss if your class finishes prior to the class end time. CLASSES CAN NOT RUN LATE – Be aware that classes that run late can disrupt the start time to the next class as well as to other teachers, especially if you are sharing a classroom. Please be mindful of your time!
Glass Craft and Bead Expo does not provide equipment for the classes, including kilns, torches, grinders, saws, etc. There are a lot of great manufacturers that provide this equipment - for the good of the industry. They do not get reimbursed. They are doing it for your benefit, so you are enabled to teach your classes. So please observe the following:
• Show Management is coordinating the requests for all kilns; you do not need to contact them directly. Please list your preferred quantity, make and model of kilns in the requirements & specs section. Be aware there are a limited number of kilns available from each supplier as they are costly, so keep your projects small to maximize the kiln space. Please note show management must use a third-party electrical provider to bring in the proper power needs for each kiln and it is extremely expensive. Please be mindful of these important details when requesting your kilns.
• Currently Carlisle Machine Works and Bethlehem Apparatus are supplying torches. You do not need to contact them until your classes are accepted.
• Make your request for all other equipment support directly to the supplier - early. Don't assume that just because they have always supplied certain equipment for you that they will continue to do so without confirmation.
• Take care of the equipment in class. Keep it clean and not damaged. Most of the equipment will be available for sale, please do a good job of keeping the equipment in sellable condition.
• Promote and THANK the vendors that supply the equipment for your class.
It is the instructor's responsibility to obtain all materials necessary for the class projects. Many manufacturers will donate or give special pricing for glass and supplies, but you must contact them directly. In addition, you can ask students to bring specific smaller tools in the “students to bring” section of the proposal but please be understanding that most of our students travel to take your classes.
Instructors are responsible for all shipping costs to the show that are not covered by suppliers. LVM covers drayage (union labor costs to bring freight to classroom). Each instructor is allowed 300 lbs. if you teach at least 3 days, not counting Kilns and glass.
Instructors are permitted to sell additional products in their classes; however, it should not interrupt class time, and classes should not become a "sales pitch" for products. If you ship in product for sale using the class materials shipping label, you will be asked to provide LVM with the number of pounds and pay for the drayage (union bringing freight into classroom). Your classroom is NOT to be a “showroom”, exhibitors pay a price for that privilege.
Prior to the show, we will be reaching out early in 2026 to ask for your classroom setup layout. This is how we know how you would like to have your equipment, tables, etc. set up.
Instructors that are teaching on Wednesday should set up their classroom on Tuesday afternoon, 1pm - 5pm. If you will be sharing a room with another instructor, please get with show management on your set up details. If you need additional time, please contact show management. Your classroom must be set up and ready to go at least 10 minutes before your class starts. It is important to set up in a timely manner for many reasons. The most important is that you can verify that all your shipped classroom materials have been delivered to your room. If you arrive late, we will not have the resources to track and find any missing materials. Please do not plan on arriving after 5pm to set up your classroom, load-in doors will be locked. If you are delayed in arrival due to travel complications, please notify show management.
Instructors should be in their rooms 20 minutes prior to start of class at a minimum. Instructors that are assigned to rooms in the Conference Center have 24-hour access to their rooms with their instructor badges. Instructors in Bay, Tree and Hall A rooms will have to make arrangements if they need in their rooms once they have been locked.
Instructors are solely responsible for the process of students picking up finished class pieces, this includes labeling student work properly and ensuring finished pieces go to the correct student. Over the years we have had numerous instances of student artwork getting picked up by the wrong student because artwork was not labeled properly, which results in the real student not getting their actual art piece that they paid to create.
If a student is required to pick up their artwork before/after class or on a different day, each student will need to be issued a permission slip to pick up their items, or security will not allow them within the classrooms before/after their actual class time; Pickup slips are available at the registration counter. An instructor or instructor assistant must be present in the classroom for all pickups! Instructors must discuss with the class and list the time on the slip that they will be in the room. We allow those with the slips to enter the classroom 20 minutes prior to the first class of the day, all other students are not allowed to enter class until 10 minutes prior to class start time.
Suggested Pick up Schedule:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday pickup time -
7:30am-7:50am if class starts at 8am.
8:30-8:50 am if class starts at 9am.
Additional times for artwork pickup can be written in on your class permission slips, but artwork pickup times Can Not interfere with any class, if a student arrives to pick up their artwork during a class, they should be asked to return at a later designated timeframe.
If artwork has not been picked up at the scheduled time each day, we ask that you bring labeled artwork to the registration desk for holding and disbursement.
If a student does not receive their artwork due to the negligence on the instructor’s part such as not being in their classroom when indicated, not properly labeling student work, providing artwork to the wrong student, or by leaving artwork after your contracted class has completed, instructors may be liable for partial student compensation as Las Vegas Management will not be held liable.
Please arrange to have your materials packed up and removed from your room by Sunday morning, unless you are teaching a Sunday class. If any rooms need to be vacated earlier, we will contact you. Please use reason in how you leave the room, the hotel charges management for excess cleaning. If you have a process that is potentially messy, please arrange for floor protection if you are in a carpeted room. Room Cleanup will be strictly enforced, if you do not clean your room and provided equipment (kilns, saws, grinders) your check may be held and then reduced by the amount it costs us to pay for the cleanup.

The South Point Hotel & Conference Center offers numerous dining and entertainment options and attendees may find many other restaurants, shops and recreational opportunities all within a short taxi ride of the property. Of course, the sights and sounds of the famed Las Vegas Strip are just a few miles north on Las Vegas Boulevard. But if you prefer to venture out from "home," then consider some of these alternatives:
ENTERTAINMENT:
There's a good reason why Las Vegas is called the "Entertainment
Capital of the World." Since its Rat Pack days, Las Vegas has been inextricably associated with
legendary shows and entertainers.
Say "Las Vegas" and it's likely that showgirls in elaborate headdresses and Elvis impersonators will come to mind. Today, the Las Vegas entertainment scene still has plenty of its classic glamour, but it has evolved to include so much more. In addition to the iconic Las Vegas entertainment staples, the destination offers a lineup of award-winning magicians, Broadway-caliber productions, world-renowned concert headliners and unique-to-Las Vegas production shows. For more information please visit visitlasvegas.com.
SHOPPING:
If you want it, Vegas has it. From designer splurges to bargain deals, Las
Vegas has become a one-stop shopping Mecca. Everything from colorful souvenir shops to haute couture
boutiques can be found in retail centers along the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding areas.
You won't be alone in your shopping endeavors. More than half of the nearly 39 million visitors who visit Las Vegas each year spent time shopping, according to the 2006 Las Vegas Visitor Profile Study. Las Vegas shoppers spent an average of $140.86 per trip, the study reports, more than twice as much as on sightseeing and show tickets combined. For more information please visit visitlasvegas.com.
NIGHTLIFE:
In 1930, Frank Detra took a chance and opened Pair O' Dice, Las Vegas'
first nightclub. Located on what was then known as the new highway to Los Angeles (today, we call it
the Las Vegas Strip), the club was open only at night.
In addition to bands and jazz performers, the Pair O' Dice served Italian food. Most notably, the establishment had a history of closing and re-opening because it sported gaming tables before the city had legalized gaming and served alcohol during Prohibition.
Nine years later, the Pair O' Dice was sold to police captain and commander of the vice squad Guy McAfee who renamed it the 91 Club. The nightlife scene changes frequently so please visit visitlasvegas.com for more information.
GOLF:
Las Vegas is no longer golf's best-kept secret. In fact, Las Vegas recently
was named the top emerging golf destination in the world by the International Association of Golf
Tour Operators.
From exquisite championship courses designed by legends of the sport to lush fairways and breathtaking views - golf is just another reason the destination attracted 39.2 million visitors in 2007.
Today, more than 60 golf courses are available for play in Las Vegas throughout the year thanks to the area's inviting climate. Las Vegas offers challenging, yet beautifully sculpted courses developed by world-renowned designers including Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf, Billy Casper, Arnold Palmer and Pete Dye. For more information about golfing in Las Vegas, please visit visitlasvegas.com.

EMAIL US IF INTERESTEDPeople come from all over the world to take classes and view the show floor for all of the latest and most innovative products and services. Las Vegas has been home to the show with it being held at the South Point Hotel and Conference Center since 2006.
We offer over 250 specialty classes in hot, warm and cold glass. Our instructors come from all over bringing all their expertise in their respective fields. Our show floor offers everything including the latest types and colors of glass, the most innovative kilns, tools and specialty items.
Our "Bead Bazaar" offers a beautiful collection of handmade beads, jewelry and one of a kind specialty items created by some of the most prominent artists in the country.
In 1994 Tommy Licata, founder and owner of Las Vegas Management and Creative Endeavors, was asked if he would be interested in organizing an educational conference and tradeshow for the Art Glass Industry. He and Nancy Montgomery consulted with industry leaders such as Kay Bain-Weiner, Norm Dobbins, Vicki Payne, Joe Porcelli and many others; the result was the Glass Craft Expo. It was held at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas the spring of 1995.
1996 Glass Craft Expo moved to the Cashman Convention Center, where it was held for the next 10 years. The Expo was designed to help promote the art glass industry, by offering educational classes, a trade show and networking opportunities, all which were open to the public. The goal was to include all forms of art glass, including stained glass, fused glass, cold working, mosaics, and flameworking. Shirley Harvey became the Show Manager, a position she held for many years.
Lee Anne Short, who had worked on the Creative Endeavors side of the company, took over production of the show after conclusion of the 2003 Expo. On the 10th anniversary, the show was renamed to "Glass Craft & Bead Expo" to include the growing flameworking and bead industries, and later in 2004, Patty Cerajewski was recruited to the Show Manager position.
As the show continued to grow, filling every square foot of the Cashman Center, it was determined that we had outgrown that facility. In 2006 the South Coast Hotel and Conference Center was opened and the show moved to this great facility, with a great combination of meeting rooms, event space, trade show halls, and best of all, on site hotel rooms. South Coast became South Point in 2007, and is still the home of the show.
Tommy Licata passed away in 2008, and the International Hot Glass Invitational held during the 2009 show was dedicated to his memory. The Invitational was the largest flame-off that had ever been held, with teams of 4-5 well known national and international lampworkers competing over two nights creating some of the most incredible sculptures.
Lee Anne and the team continue to work hard every year to bring the best faculty of instructors and the latest in techniques to the average of 1000 students who attend the classes. The trade show floor is filled with the manufacturers and retailers of glass, equipment and tools needed for producing all forms of glass art. In addition there are many artists in booths or the bead bazaar that sell their finished artwork, sculptures, beads and jewelry.
The annual Gallery of Excellence juried art competition entries in both professional and amateur categories astound the attendees each year with the beauty and skill of the work. Local high schools have participated in the gallery for many years. Scholarships for local high school students and teachers have been made available through the Kay Bain-Weiner Foundation, show management and other contributors.
Las Vegas Management would like to thank all the members of the art glass industry, the teachers, exhibitors and students for supporting the Glass Craft & Bead Expo over the years. Many have been with us since the first show. The show has had steady growth, and is proud to promote art glass through education and by providing a quality showcase for product and glass artists alike.
